During the Summer

For your summer evenings, we have chosen exceptional spectacles in the most beautiful locations in the Loire Valley. This summer will be magical on La Loire à Vélo!


At the Château de  Beaugency

Discover the historic fresco “Les Secrets de la Pompadour” in Beaugency and set off for a trip through time with secrets, celebrations…and holiday departures! Louis XV’s lovers and his favourite among them with be revealed to you, as well as a part of French history which will take you all the way up to 1966!

  • Dates: the 1st, 2, 3, 7, 8 & 9 July 2016
  • Hours: doors open at 10pm, the spectacle starts at 10.30pm
  • Tariff: €12/ adult (free for children under 8 years)

La Balade du Roi René in Angers

Rediscover the masterpieces of the Angers heritage with light displays, sounds, and tales. A trip across the city and its history, with the famous Apocalypse tapestry as the main theme this year. Enough to jazz up your summer evenings!

  • Dates: Saturday evenings from 23 July to 13 August 2016
  • Locations: Château d’Angers, Place Kennedy, Cathédrale Saint-Maurice, Collégiale Saint-Martin, Musée des Beaux-Arts, Place du Ralliement
  • Hours: from 8.30pm to midnight
  • Free

At the Château de Chenonceau

“Join the delights of the senses with those of the mind” and discover the gardens lit up with the sound of the music of a master of Italian classicism, Arcangelo Corelli. On July 16, make the most of this evening and enjoy a glass of Touraine-Chenonceaux (recently granted AOC) in the company of winegrowers.

  • Dates: In July on Friday 15, Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 and in August on Friday 12, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14
  • Hours: from 9.30pm to 11.30pm (closure of ticket office at 11pm)
  • Tariff: €6/ adult (free for children under 7 years)

At the Château d’Amboise

This brand new and original spectacle at the Château Royal d'Amboise, "The Amboise prophecy" is a key event in the Loire Valley with over 250 people featuring on stage. It pushes the boundaries of traditional sound and lighting displays by offering you a mixture of multimedia sequences and epic scenes which will make your head spin!

  • Dates: 2 July to 27 August 2016, every Wednesday and Saturday (except 13 July), Tuesday 12, 26 July, 9, 16 August, Friday 15 July, 26 August
  • Hours: 10.30pm in July and 10pm in August
  • Tariff: from €18/ adult (free for children under 6 years)

In the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire

Come and take a night time stroll through the creations of the 25th edition of the International Garden Festival in Chaumont on the theme of “Gardens in the century to come”! Completely revisited by “light engineers”, you’ll discover new atmospheres, unusual, magical or mysterious, which will transport your imagination…

  • Dates: every evening from July 1st to 31 August 2016
  • Hours: from 10pm (nightfall) until midnight
  • Tariff: €14/ adult, €9.50 upon presentation of day ticket (free for children under 6 years)

Au Château de Blois

Relive the finest hours of the royal château of Blois… A festival of sound effects and giant projections which will allow you to discover the history of France like you’ve never seen it before!

  • Dates: 2 April to 18 September 2016
  • Hours: from 10pm (10.30pm in June, July and August) - Duration: 45 mins (opening of the ticket office 30 mins before the start of the spectacle)
  • Tariff: €8.50/ adult – possibility of combined tickets (free for children under 6)

The Mystery of the Falun in Doué-la-Fontaine

Moving away slightly from the route of La Loire à Vélo (20 km), the Les Perrières underground site gives you the chance to explore underground. Filled with light displays, the route will allow you to travel back in time to discover the geological changes which led to the creation of the site, the animals that lived there it and the men who dug the tunnels. A scenography between poetry and science, directed by Lucie Lom.

  • Dates: 26 March to 1st November 2016
  • Hours: from 10am to 7pm from 15 June to 14 September 2016/ 10am-12.30pm and 2pm to 6pm from 26 March to 14 June and from 15 September to 1 November 2016
  • Tariff: €7/adult - € 4.50/child -12 years - €6/12-18 years (free under 5 years)
