The “Loire à Vélo” releases its own app!

A small, practical and entertaining app that is set to become a must-have for all mobile users on the Loire à Vélo trail…

Since March 1st the official mobile application of the Loire à Vélo trail has been available in French and English for iPhone and Android.

To get the app, smartphone users can simply download it free of charge from the App Store or the Play Store.

It is the first app dedicated to the entire Loire à Vélo cycling itinerary: a unique trail running from Cuffy in the Cher (near Nevers) to St Brévin-les-Pins in the Loire-Atlantique.

An all-in-one free tool!

The Loire à Vélo app uses GPS technology to navigate along the itinerary and does not need an internet connection to work except when the app is first started up to download the maps.

With it your roadmap is always within reach offering the detailed mapping of your itinerary, as well as the “Accueil Vélo” accommodation and bike rental firms or sightseeing spots that you have selected beforehand.

As the Loire Valley is one big playground and we are all just big kids at heart, the app also throws down some entertaining challenges along the way.

You can win virtual trophies, for example by becoming a “Château lover” after visiting three of them or an “Epicurean” when you’ve eaten in at least three restaurants, etc.

The ultimate honour is being named “King of the Loire à Vélo”!

Bike riding is ideal for new encounters and discoveries. With this app you will find all the attractions, services and activities along the Loire à Vélo trail and benefit from promotions on some of them.

Because the Loire à Vélo is a human adventure in its own right, you can share your experiences and memories by publishing your photos from the app onto the website.

And of course there are plenty of other features; weather, itinerary suggestions…

The Loire à Vélo app, to be downloaded and used as much as you like.
