Outside the Château stand reproductions of strangely-named war-faring contraptions from the Middle Ages, such as the mangonel, couillard and cerbatane.
The Château of this small town between Briare and Gien has made catapults and canons its speciality. On show in the former moat, these artillery pieces are even used in demonstrations organised in April and over the summer (contact for information). With real ammunition!
